Satyanarayana on Thursday said the decision to construct a Signature Tower at Rushikonda in the PPP mode would accentuate the brand value of Visakhapatnam. Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of an IT quiz conducted by the TCS here, he said that the government was committed to developing the city as the main IT destination for domestic and international players. He said that the government, which called for bids from private developers to construct the Signature Tower in two phases sometime ago, was expecting a good response. Layout planned He said that they were also proposing to develop a layout to rope in big players in IT. Infrastructure Mr. Satyanarayana said that as part of the new IT policy, they would attract investments in IT and ITES in Vijayawada, Tirupati, Anantapur, and Rajahmundry. Infrastructure was being created for plug and play facilities, he added. | ||

Signature Tower to be built in two phases Santosh Patnaik Comment (2) · print · T T inShare In the first phase, an investment of Rs.290 cr. is envisaged in the PPP mode The Signature Tower proposed on the sea-facing Rushikonda hills in the Madhurawada IT Special Economic Zone in Visakhapatnam will be developed in two phases to make it a Global IT Hub if the efforts being made by the government fructify. For construction of the tower as part of the first phase, an investment of Rs.290 crore is envisaged in the Public Private Partnership mode. Private investor or consortium will take up the project under Design, Build, Operate, and Transfer basis. American property firm Jones Long LaSalle (LSS) has already made several visits to Visakhapatnam after its appointment as a project consultant. It will help the APIIC in selecting the development partner. âThe pre-bid conference on the project, which is aimed at enhancing the brand image of Andhra Pradesh, will be held on September 9 at Hyderabad,â APIIC Chief General Manager (Projects) Ch.S.S. Prasad told The Hindu . Of the 17.98 acres earmarked for the project, eight acres will be allotted for the first phase. The developer will develop 9,05,292 sq. ft. of the built-up area with a provision for parking of 1,350 cars. The super-structure will also have support facilities for IT and ITES units such as hospitality, retail, and recreation. APIIC officials said that they were expecting a good response to the Request for Proposal (RFP) notification, which was issued on August 17. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, during an investorsâ meet here last year, had declared that the Signature Tower would have better architectural design than the Cyber Towers of Hyderabad to make Visakhapatnam the IT Capital of A.P. by attracting national and international investors. | ||

Vizag is at good geographical location. From Chennai to Kolkata, there is no biggest on that route. Vizag has NO COMPETETION because of its location. Probably thats why Vizag is already one of the top IT destinations in tier-2 cities. It needs that push from govt like KTR is pushing startup culture in Hyderabad. | ||

Signature towers in Vizag. What happened to it ? There has been no news about it for quite some time. Scrapped ? KTR is doing his best to increase the brand image their state's biggest city Hyderabad. What about AP's biggest city Vizag ? T-HUB which was started just an year back. Now it is almost near completion whereas for signature towers, not even the bidder has been finalised in the last 18 months. Capital capital Singapore singapore. Irony is not even a road has been laid in that mega 2050 capital too. Common people will(if not already) lose trust on this govt if they dont roll the ball of all projects. Especially IT development in the state and Capital building. |
