Seriously something is wrong with folks in DB. Since Arab spring, Tunisia and Tunisians achieved remarkable progress of being a more inclusive society. The Tunisian National Dialogue Quartet deserves Nobel Peace Prize. Not a word of appreciation, but bringing parallels with other religion-centric country. !ntfi |

Tunisian National Dialogue Quartet bags Nobel Peace Prize for 2015. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tunisian_National_Dialogue_Qua rtet Kaci Kullmann Five, head of the Nobel Committee, said: “It established an alternative peaceful political process at a time when the country was on the brink of civil war". The Nobel committee said it hopes Tunisia will serve as an example for other countries. The National Dialogue quartet was created after the high-profile assassination of the leftist politician Mohamed Al-Brahmi in 2013, which sparked protests across the country and came a few months after the first political assassination of Chokri Belaid. It was a time when Tunisia was grappling with striking a balance between the rise of political Islam in the country and the traditional secular politics it had been accustomed to for decades. !ntfi |
