Guntur: The Land Acquisition Act seems to be be a farce on people's rights. The act that is seen as a tool to impoverish farmers and enriching corporates has been getting widespread disapproval from many sections of the society. AP government which has already got 33,400 acres of land under land pooling now is exercising the land acquisition act to get additional 3,982 acres of land. To this effect sometime back Guntur District Collector Kantilal Dande passed the land acquisition notification under GO 304. According to this GO under the purview of Amaravathi revenue villages such as Tullur (2), Sakhamuru, Borupalem, Pichukalapalem, Anantavaram, Nelapadu, Ainavolu, Abburajupalem, Dondapalem and Kondamarajupalem are there. To acquire their lands AP government deployed 26 special deputy collectors. Tomorrow another notification to acquire lands of another 19 villages is set to be passed.
