Complete details: President's Award for Educational Excellence This award recognizes academic success in the classroom. I have a friend in Ridgewood... supposed to be top 10 in NJ and 102 on this list. His words - Arey yeh saale log school school bolke property taxes bada dere.... aur upar se school mein itna competition hogaya ki to get an edge kumon, tuitions etc etc ko bhejre so overall school dist acha hai tho b its still not enough for the kids because of the competition.. naak fuse out... too much pressure amma on kids.. | ||

So, rather than getting into TJ and being 50th in the class be in decently rated school say like STONE BRIDGE HIGH SCHOOL in ASHBURN and be No 1 to 5!!! | ||

basic gaa high schools which concentrate on one or more particular streams - math, science, engineering , arts one of the founding concepts in 70s was to bring talented ppl from diverse BGs like low income to a even playing field...over the years competitive gaa maari poyindhee...TJ has 70% asian american kids out of 400 students per year Magnet schools usually cover a region - either kids from one school dsitrict or multiple ( depends on the relationship established between various county school boards, dept of education etc).... some have admission test like TJ some have lottery system some have mix of both high % of kids graduating from places like TJ go to ivy leagues colleges...again some colleges these days are trying to diversify ...so top 10 students may not all go to harvard if they all applied .... @saint your logic of study and shine anywhere does not apply to these schools highly talented and demonstrated kids make it ...IITs lo sadivina kids vs toppers from any other univ in India ..you know which group is better leveraged | ||
