It is a future proofing router. Supports 802.11ac and wifi beaming to specific devices in your coverage area (that you can change on the fly if you want).

It also contains 13 antennas and is constantly scanning the frequencies to figure the least congested route to your devices. It resets (without rebooting) the frequencies every five minutes so that you are assured of excellent wifi response minimizing interference effects.

It also supports 802.15.4 - a "connected home/IOT" networking standard. It is part of Weave technology (Think Project Brillo). In future, these would become standard options in a home router for home automation.

Don't just write it off yet. Google is onto something here.

- it has 1000 Mpbs ports, so called Gigabit router.

I think you are totally confused between a gigabit modem and a gigabit wifi...Gigabit wifi has nothing to do with physical ports but rather has to do with the maximum speed allowed per antenna stream...

http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/G/gigabit_wi-fi.html

Gigabit Wi-Fi refers to the upcoming 802.11ac Wireless LAN specification that will support data transfer speeds of 433Mbps per spatial stream and up to 1.3Gbps speeds for three-antenna (three stream) hardware.

http://www.pcworld.com/article/254616/802_11ac_gigabit_wi_fi _what_you_need_to_know.html
Wider Channels

802.11ac uses wider channels to move more data. 802.11n relies on 40MHz channels. 802.11ac doubles that to 80MHz by default, with an option to use 160MHz channels. Coupled with QAM (check out this Wikipedia reference for a more detailed explanation of QAM) encoding that’s four times more efficient than 802.11n, the new Wi-Fi standard will be capable of transferring data at 433Mbps.

More Spatial Streams

There are twice as many spatial streams available in 802.11ac as there are in 802.11n. With eight spatial streams—each capable of a theoretical 433Mbps—802.11ac devices that use eight antennas can reach speeds up to nearly 7Gbps.

I got best ASUS router for FREE from Tmobile(I was a pre paid customer at that time) which is around $200 value. It has been running like charm... Before this, I used a 802.11 G ASUS router for around 6 years(with Tomoto firmware)... Why to pay $199 to Google and route all our traffic through Google servers..

you are confused between wired vs wireless throughput. A router with gigabit port (physical port) is called Gigabit router. There are gigabit routers that have no wifi on them. I can show you routers that are simultaneous dual band 80.11 a/b/g/n on wireless but the 4 physical ports have only 100 Mbps throughput. These are not called gigabit routers.

From my experience searching on Amazon, Gigabit being referred to in most cases is for Wifi's...Gigabit cable modems have been in use for a long time now from Motorola

Problem ardham kaala? WHat do you mean 2 monitors and laptop screen? All laptops allow that right? What's hard about this?

For a Macbook air, this is a problem as you have only one mini display port...So, I had to buy the Pluggable USB to 4K HDMI adapter and use it.

In Windows laptops, usually you can drive 2 displays simultaneously kadha?
