Separate Country with Andhra, Telangana, Karnataka, TN, Kerala, Andaman Islands & Sri lanka would be good - 4 International cities (Colombo, Hyd, Chennai and Blr) - many large cities - fertile agricultural delta basins - good ports and steel plants - good transport connectivity - educated people anni unnaayi....and most importantly - We would no longer be under the shadow of the Bengalis, haryanvis and Punjabis - They come to Blr and treat US like outsiders - almost as if this country belongs to them and we are guests!!! Set up a world class Dravidian University with HQ in Thiruvannamalai and branches in Kandy, Sri Kalahasthi, Talakadu / Sri Rangapatna, and Trivandrum We can speak our own ancient languages instead of using a "modern imported" language like Hindi (mix of Turkish, Persian and Sanskrit) But this will NEVER happen!!! But that apart, some of these stereotypes pakkana unchithe.. a) The North Indians are loud, aggressive and ostentatious - but that is not across all states, largely Delhi, Punjabi and Haryana vallu..but i don't find that too different from some of our feudal castes in AP. b) I have stayed 10 years in Bangalore and 2.5 years in Gurgaon...i haven't had any bad experiences in Gurgaon while i have had many issues in Bangalore with auto drivers to bus conductors to policemen. The policeman who came to my house in Gurgaon for passport verification was for instance very cultured, he said that Delhiites are aggressive and loud and we should not mind that. Bangalore lo aithe i got into fight with the SI. c) North Indian racists aa - mari manam pedda Gandhijilu mari...India is a damn racist breed. And we in the South are no less. No, for our North-India-centered-Central Government. Taxes paid by South Indians fund all central-government projects. So no more NREGA in UP and MP. The problems with the current state of affairs are a) the utter lack of safety of women in the North, b) the loud, ghoulish, aggressive culture, which makes it very difficult for any south Indian to live in Gurgaon, Delhi or Noida or other northern cities. c)the tendency to say "hum sub ek hai" (we are one), while siphoning off money and resources from the south, or coming to work in the south and expecting south Indians to know Hindi. d) I have found some people from Delhi, Haryana, MP and other northern states openly racist - abusing or deriding people of darker skin colors or slit eyes. To be fair, my state, West Bengal, receives much more from the Central Government than it gives. Also, the inhospitable weather and poverty means that not a lot of Indians from other parts of country can settle here, though some do. Clearly, remaining part of the Indian union is beneficial for us. |
