As lots of them already stated, when you want to go big, do it in manufacturing rather than distribution. Unless its a niche segment, the margins are not the same anymore and there are too many players at present in distribution. Also, kickbacks are kicking a$$es everywhere. But u can make a consistent margin based on high volume biz.

If you plan to get into manufacturing, always partner with someone who is already into mfg and knows the game and is ideally planning to scale up. That is much safer. However, ur main competitors shall be from China globally and Gujarath based locally, who I hear give damn good pricing.

Nenu "expert" ni kaadu .. but been in HC/LS domain for last 6-7 years .. (mana DB lo inka chala mandi unnaru) ..

1) Antha wide range lo products ni dobbadam almost impossible .. market is very very competitive but niche .. and yet there are tons of big players .. very well established .. so think well about it and only then get into it ..

2) Quality matters .. ee business lo .. but there is lot of money to be made .. and Africa/South East Asia/Middle East .. anni markets lo exports ki kuda chaala opportunities unnayi ..

Asalu distribution kante Medical Equipment manufacturing ultimate business. At least 20 Billion dollar/year business if we can crack this

This will be the holygrail and tough nut to crack. Actually Modi govt has initiated this as lot of our currency (At least 2 billion dollars) is spent on importing equipment.

Primary among these are orthopedic (Implants) and cardiac (stents and valves)

Chinna example: ortho knee implant each one costs one lakh rupees, but actual manufacturing ki 15000 rupees cost. Rest all is profit and import dutees.

This will be big game.

Naku 2 main drawbacks kanipisthunnayi

1) As i already said too wide/breadth of choice. Edaina niche area lo enter ayyi, then based on that can expand horizontally/vertically

Agressive sales& marketing muscle vunte you can pull this kind of broad op. Other wise 1 or 2 niche enter ayyi, then you have to pull

2) Area landscape analysis choodali if they are starting from Vizag.
Govt hospitals you can forget as it is always kickbacks
Pvt. hopsitals lo you have to catch who is the procurement guy and relationship meeda work avutayi in these settings

Hyd corporate (Apollo,Yashoda) lo i know how these work. So lite experience vundi.

Don't get me wrong.. this is not some small time store in Vij or Hyd... they are planning big like a few which operate from Delhi or Bombay

they highlighted things like these... and they want to market name brands which are not as expensive as the ones U quoted and are not intensively marketing in India...

lot of details tho vachaaru... but I can not say more....

problem ala okate, if the investment is simple n issues but they are plannin high... ade nenu comfortable ga feel avanidi
