When asked about the reports on the involvement of the VIPs, including a Union minister, Khan said, "we don't see the case from that perspective. There are no VIPs for us. They are just the accused. We will never consider their background or their present position when it comes to prosecuting them, if necessary." The ACB source, however, said the investigation team was preparing a memo to be submitted in the ACB court, and the investigators would soon name the minister as an accused, along with the MPs and other TDP leaders. While the investigation is said to have revealed that the minister had led a team of TDP leaders to ensnare four TRS MLAs and a Congress MLA, the surprising tidbit to emerge was that his money was used to bribe even the YSR Congress MLAs. The sources said the TDP leaders had paid the YSR Congress MLAs Rs 10 lakh and Rs. 50 lakh each as an advance payment on May 30. Interestingly, however, all the three YSR Congress members voted for the TRS candidate in the elections. | ||
