hmm....naaku license vachina kothallo I was with mercury for 2 years...aa time lo migatha vi anni 450-500 range lo quotes itcharu...I think I remember I got it thru esurance...250 kotchindi..! last 2 years nunchi geico lo vunna...mercury only CA lone covered. maa state lo ledu..so geico ki move ithe, oka 30-40 ekkuva padindi anukunta for same car... | ||

Just now I ran my current Geico policy exactly(even lower per incident coverage) by Mercury. Its actually $600 higher than Geico per year. (even Geico didnt accept Indian Driving Experience). If we get the Indian Driving Experience Letter(we are trying to get it ASAP), It would be even lower on Geico. I geuss so far, Geico is the best coverage for my policy so far. | ||

Anni insurance companies honor cheyyav ee statement ni. Geico was asking to get a letter from indYa stating the driving history with the driving license number etc. They will check the license number online(now you can check driving license number online for AP etc). | ||

I guess I may lose the Group discount if I dont have at least one additional driver(other than me) /one additional car in my policy. But it may not impact as long as me and my wife is on the policy with both of us on good drive record. I dont have a clue why our premium may be jacked up for the reasons other than the above. (You may be right but I am still trying to be convinced). When I have entered into US, I was added onto my brother and his wife's group policy(my first car was registered on my brother name) with AAA. Later after few years, I got onto my own policy and started another Tree of Group Insurance.. now adi perigi perigi peddadai total 6 drivers and 5 vehicles one policy ayi koorchundi... | ||

amica and other insurance take IDP as driving record so it will help to show them we have driving record since yrs or so, that should help in getting good rates | ||

There is a trick to get good low insurance premium for good coverage for new drivers. It needs an existing good driver help. Here is what I have done for my new to US BIL and now to his wife(new driver) I have added him as an additional driver to my current policy(two drivers, three vehicles already on it). Then he bought a car of his own later, it was registered on my name(since the car should be registered on my name in order to be in my policy). Then now his new driver wife also was added as an additional driver(while me and my wife are primary on the same policy). This way, their low driving experience could be shadowed under our existing good driving record policy. But the risk for me is that I own any liability on their car(as it was registered on my name). He has saved at least $800 per year per driver this way. It comes as a Multi car, Multi driver discounts.. Just an idea... it may not work for everyone, but just in case.. | ||
