Reporting from houston. Pros - Lot of good restaurants - Temples - Top schools - Strong economy (oil and medical) - Better cost of living - wide roads (traffic is still a problem but lot of road infra projects going on) - great desi neighborhoods (sugarland, spring, cypress) - Indian community - cheap housing/real estate - Nightlife is OK. - very close top cities (SanAntonio 3hr drive, Austin 4 hr, Dallas 5Hr drive) - Intl airport - Few museums/•••/Nasa/Kheema for kids - ROCKETS Cons - hot summers (but people get used to it) - not much out door activities (except few lakes and related activities) - no snow/skiing nil - not so decent beaches (but few are there) - no mountains - no casinos (nearest is 3hr drive Lake Charles, Louisiana) - Medium range salaries compared to west/east. http://bit.ly/1v1kxSu | ||

I movedf from TX to NE, I think better to say what i missed and gained 1. big time Snow + 2. big difference in salary as well cost of living 3. many desi crowds but in TX now a days if u go to dallas same thing over all ga if u have decent salary in TX, worth move it it does not have to be great salary becos of cheap living. 4. only negative in TX is heat is scorching, from june/jul/aug/sept u can cook omlet on top of u r car.
