Most of these NGO's are front ends for foreign intelligence agencies. Ford Foundation is a major one for US. Whenever we try to acquire anything from any country other than them, they create a lot of trouble by creating dharnas, etc. Very good job by Govt of India. The Gujarat government and Setalvad are already embroiled in legal battles. While she has filed several cases against the state government functionaries including the former Chief Minister Narendra Modi regarding the 2002 riots, the state police has filed a case of embezzlement of funds against her. âDuring the investigation of Gulberg Society museum funds embezzlement case, these things came to light,â Patel said. âWe learnt that the funds which they received, especially from the (US-based) Ford Foundation, were actually used for disturbing the communal harmony here and carrying out anti-national propaganda against India in foreign countries,â he claimed. âAccording to the information given by Ford Foundation (to state police), we came to know that she had used the funds to carry out a campaign against the Gujarat government and also against the country,â he said. âWe wrote to the government of India last month seeking probe of this NGOâs role and necessary action against it⦠they (the Centre) can take action such as cancelling its grants or de-listing the NGO,â said Patel. : In yet another crackdown on NGOs receiving foreign funds, government has cancelled licences of nearly 9,000 such entities for violation of Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA). In an order, the Home Ministry said that notices were issued to 10,343 NGOs for not filing annual returns for the year 2009-10, 2010-11 and 2011-12. The notices were served on October 16, 2014 saying that the NGOs should file their annual returns within a month specifying amount of foreign funds received, sources of such funds, for which purpose it was received and in manner in which such foreign contribution was utilised, according to a Home Ministry notification. |
