This Lake/Reservoir SAVES money and also permanent solution for another 90-1 lakhs acres area....Infact this provides gravitational water supply to Capital area.. Another guy emailed me and asked me to suggest cheapest area to pool....I told him generally Ananthavaram is cheap(because in general that was cheap).... He came back and said "What is cheap, it is 92 lakhs and sold" There is one in Kuragallu the cheapest and he is going there tomorrow... HYDERABAD: The new capital of Andhra Pradesh will have a man-made lake, twice the size of Hyderabad's water body Hussainsagar, chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced on Wednesday. Taking potshots at his Telangana counterpart Chandrasekhar Rao for planning to shift the Secretariat away from the iconic lake, the AP chief minister said he was firm about a water body in the middle of the proposed core capital. "He (KCR) might not know about the beauty of having a lake near the administrative headquarters. But we are going to have a water body in our core capital region," Naidu told his ministers on a day the government said it would acquire more than 12,000 acres of land on the other side of river Krishna, bang opposite Amaravati town to develop tourism projects. Naidu told his ministers that Singapore agencies have been asked to prepare a plan to build a water body in the core capital in such a way that all government buildings face it. The CM said he already spoke to the Singapore government about having a water body within the core capital region and in response, the Singapore agencies have sought another 1,000 to 2,000 acres of land to develop a water body similar to Hussainsagar. Following the agencies' request for more land, the government is now planning to extend the core capital area from proposed 8km to 10km radius, so that some more land may be brought into the limits of the core capital region. Meanwhile, with the AP government deciding to acquire more than 12,000 acres for tourism projects, environment experts and agricultural scientists have complained that food security of the region would be in peril with the acquisition of farm land. But the government says it has already decided to acquire more land under the land pooling system. As per the government records, there are about 4,500 acres of government land available between Kanchikacherla and Nandigama. Now the government has decided to acquire another 6,000 to 8,000 acres of assigned and private land on the other side of the river for development. To develop Mangalagiri and Vijayawada as smart cities, the government has decided to request the Singapore government to prepare separate plans for the two cities. A special purpose vehicle in the name of AP Capital City Development and Management Company (CCDMC) will be set up soon to supervise all the development activity of the capital region. The government has decided to call tenders to identify capital city master developer based on 'swiss challenge model'. The most controversial 'swiss challenge model' provides the government flexibility to give preference to a particular company. The government has also decided to appoint a 10-member CCDMC board with principal secretary of municipal administration as its head. |
