i think better way to deal with this moderation issue is 1. for mods do not give permission to delete any posts or threads, just give mod ability to move those deleted threads to mod lunge 2. add a feature to purge the deleted posts/threads after certain amount of time(may be couple months), so that it will give ability for admin to review posts incase any member have any issue with in that time frame 3. similarly remove permission to delete ID's from Mod but they can ban members infinite time, and admin can review the infinately banned id and delete them permanently if needed, i know it is more work for admins but your have to take that pain at least id deletions my two cents | ||

Good initiative admin Ji. I see a small issue with this though, suppose an open mod logs into the board and then ccdb tab is relegated to background while busy with something or just moves away from the system this page will still show him to be active so chances of him taking the blame are there but again no system is perfect. Better something than none. The reason we struggle with insecurity is because we compare our behind-the-scenes with everyone else’s highlight reel. | ||

Members have been complaining about anonymous deletion or moving of threads for a long time. Since there is no log-in history, it was pretty difficult to find out which Moderator moved or deleted the thread. We have added a feature where anytime a moderator logs-in to admin panel, his/her details will be logged in database and provided as a report to members via this link http://www.chalanachithram.com/discus/mod_login_hist.php We are in process of adding more features to make moderation more transparent.
