It's not a mistake. There r reasons. Let me try to explain meaning of first sloka from BG. BagavadGita starts with "Dritarastra" which means who thinks others state as his own. We always try to posses things which are not ours that includes our own wife, childeren for that matter even our own body!! All of us identify ourselves as body which changes everyday and vanishes one day. So this is our own story. The real sloka starts with "Dharma" . Then here comes the question what is Dharma. Dharma is the more natural character of anything in this world. In other words, inherent in the very nature of things. For example Sugar Dharma is to be sweet., Fire Dharma is to be hot and to give light , etc etc. Then what is Dharma for a Human. What should a human do ? Everything in the nature including animals cannot go overboard within their Dharma ( Laws of Nature) but a human has an option because he has intelligence. Here comes the "Free will" and "Vichakshana". Just think over what is Dharma for a human . | ||

it's not that he gives the chance, take money and enjoy. IF someone wants to do guru paada pooja (the highest in guru sishya parampara) he will entertain. In return devotees give dakshina. BTW this money goes to the charity organizations run by JET (you get tax deductible receipt as well). Has anyone here read Gita in its entirety? Does it really offer insights/solutions to all mankind (as people say it does)? Or does it depend on your own interpretation? What are the most easy to understand options to read Gita? Will it even make sense for an atheist? Recently, someone i know said 'if you read Gita, you will change your opinion about god'. So wanted to give it a try.. On a diff note - I have read Tagore's Geethaanjali recently but raka rakaalu gaa vundindi.. i couldn't connect or grasp it.
