correct...the only caveat is laws are a contract between lawmakers and people- if people don't see an incentive in obeying the law, they wouldn't abide by it....ex: traffic laws in desam, anti-corruption laws etc ee anti conversion law kuda anthe avuddi..you can't impose an idea on people ifthey dont buy it.. | ||

vunkl , howdy you are treading dangerous waters here... religions are just ideas, they are borne by humans, if a religion should die, it can be a genocidal idea. how can an idea die? either project the idea is bad and stay away from it, or kill the people with the idea. now folks can easily take the second idea, if they are in rush. every other religion is un-evolved, which you do not follow for most. such religion should get out-dated(if there is such a thing called time), but apparently we can lack patience. what i realized is, ideas dont evolve, we just put laws in place to not let people do it. killing is barbarious, but we did not evolve to where we cant kill, we just dont kill, and the idea of killing is still an active idea. we just have laws against killing, oh well, atleast certain types of killing. we learn, that some ideas are relevant, and some ideas are not. we are a in a pickle because, if we need to control learning, we are essentially forming a religion again, and unfortunately we get too emotional about ideas. | ||

people should be free to move to the faith of their choice...if a religion doesn't treat people well(ex: dalits n chandals n hinduism, treatment met out to widows in hinduism etc), ppl should screw the religion and move over to a faith that treats them better vice verse from other religions to hinduism.. any law preventing conversions (mass or individual) is impending the basic rights ofpeople at the end of the day, religions should evolve with changing times...those that don't evolve must die | ||

vunkl, my point is, this is just a political stunt, its a question raised BJP/RSS to other parties. If other parties can question conversion to hinduism, they are asking, its ok for people to other religions, then impose a law. if you are secular, they why worry when someone converting to hinduism is the real question here. or am i missing it? | ||

weekend news saduvuthunte choosa... chass... what a farce. i think its entirely political stunt to shut phony secularists who are raising hell when a few hundreds are converted to hinduism . how am i going to set up a new religion, this is anti-small business move , killing prospective religions in india.
