Shirdi Sai Baba never said he was god. he always said "allah malik" and expounded unity of god, spirituality and doing good deeds amongst folks. janalaki ayana chesina medical miracles, teerchina korikalu matram gurtu untai.

I am not a believer of God or Baba, but as I understand Sai Baba is about enlightenment, and that is nothing to do with Indian independence, its more about individual's enlightenment to things
