Well, in my kids school, here in UK, the method is easy.... first count 1 to 100 and 2 digit additions are easy....let us say, 19 + 6 ante, put 19 on your head and count foward using your fingers.... 19 - 6 ante, put 19 on your head and count backwords using your six fingers.... Now the practical example is using some tiny objects.... And also counting is 2s, 5s and 10s and thats intro for multiplication tables. she is still in year 1... probably future lo complicate chestaaremo....right now its easier than my childhood, which was basically byheart... They have a different method of teaching and I have seen kids who are 2nd grade getting confused with the school methods and quitting it. Kumon has it's disadvantages , but it gives a discipline or just a schedule to follow it , it has curriculum which can be followed until the kid goes to college - | ||
