Director & Producer: Dasari Narayana Rao Cast : Dasari Narayana Rao, Vishnu Manchu, Catherine Tresa, Nazar, Raghu babu, Brahmanandam, MS Narayana, Ali Music : Chakri Rating 3.25 Story Errabus(Dasari Narayana Rao) as people call him, is a deep rooted village old man comes to city to spend some time with his grandson played by Vishnu. He is being called by his everyone as Erra bus for his bumpkin histrionics. Vishnu is a software engineer whose only ambition is to go to USA. He falls in love with beautiful ophthalmologist Raji (Catherine). Granpa is of good Samaritan type who saves people in trouble like saving girl from eve teasers to treating ill people with herbs. His village attire, frankness and honesty doesn’t go well with the neighbors in the apartment complex they live in. He does all sought of funny mischief like bathing in swimming pool to playing with kids. He unintentionally becomes trouble maker for the grandson Vishnu. This leads to Raji misunderstanding grandpa and breaking up with Vishnu and also his visa dreams get shattered. Then how Dasari solves Vishnus problems from getting him visa to patching up the lovers and winning the love of neighborhood forms the rest of the story. Analysis In this generation of nucleus families, where, kids only know two relations, uncle and aunty, Errabus is a must watch for them to understand the importance of grandparents and family values. Errabus is a message for current generation with colorful packaging of commercial elements comedy, romance and action. The film is of Disney comic genre. It reminds us of Ted or Tinkle comic character Chacha Chowdary. Dasari’s role of Errabus is like a Santa Claus who fulfills people’s wishes and gifts them all good. It will leave an impression on audience minds. The role can be patented and can be made into a series or sequels. It is a magical come back of legendary actor-director Dasari. It is unbelievable for a 75 year old to deal with family story so contemporarily and technically as well. Dasari plays the title role. The film completely revolves round his character. His acting prowess is also very well known to Telugu audience. Especially the heart wrenching climax scene is hard to resist from rolling into tears. Vishnu is seen in a supporting role in this film. He brilliantly essayed his role of matured youngster who loves his grandpa no matter what. Catherine looked slim and cute, she played her role well. Brahmanandam, MS Narayana and Raghu Babu provide comic relief. CG work where thousands of crows throng at Brahmanandam was well done. It will be a comeback for music director Chakri also. He has given some beautiful melodies. The baby shower song “Navamma” was soothing to ear. The duet songs between Vishnu and Catherine were well filmed. Vishnu’s dance in “Om Namah Shivaya” was superb. Highlights The best part of Errabus is nothing is overdone. The film has balance of every emotion – sentiment, comedy, romance, action and drama. It is apt for current generation; every scene is crisp and striking. It is must see for youngster especially the urban youth who are in a race for something leaving behind everything, human values.
