there are multiple dimensions here at play. Like the commentator on Amazon was saying there were muslim bullies, i have read some similar arguments from kashmiri hindus, which shed a different light. Infact, there is a youtube video that i have watched recently, a discussion/debate between two kashmiri pandits, one kashmiri muslim and one pakisthani tv host. I will try to find the video. there are always conflicting human stories is all my point is. From a broader brush, yes, Kashmiri muslims committed a genocide against kashmiri hindu's, but when zoom in on individuals the dicussion changes from broader political stories to individual perspectives. I havent watched the movie, so cant comment on the movie. If the movie is about politics of kashmir, my take would be different, if its a human perspective story, my take would be different. One of the review of his books in amazon .. he is not anti bjp, he is Anti Hindu I read this book last week. I have a few comments. This is an interesting read. However, I lived in Lal Chowk Anantnag until I was 16 which was 1990 before we were asked to leave Kashmir by our muslim "friends" and neighbors who thought they were doing us a favor. I will say that the author is a typical Kashmiri muslim who believe that India has been very harsh to them. He talks about post-1989 era. I was a hindu living in Anantnag and I can tell you this - talk about discrimination? For example, when we would go to play in a sports stadium near bus stand, as soon as muslim kids would come, we would have to make way for them to play. They would bully us all the time. He whines a lot about how brutal security forces have been but he very conveniently skips over the part where his muslim terrorist friends and relatives killed hindus for no reason. Why did his muslim terrorist friend "Mann Darzi" kill scores of Hindus for no reason. He does not talk about how his muslim terrorist friends would use loudspeakers from their mosques to tell hindus to leave the kashmir or they will be killed. Let's face it - the only reason they started this war is because India is a Hindu country. If India had been a muslim country then they would be all ok with it. I can not understand how does he even get entry in US when all his friends and relatives are terrorists? Look how he quickly dismissed attack on his father as "some one complaining" I wonder if his father would have been killed and his mother raped would he have dismissed it too? because that's what his muslim terrorist friends did to hindus. When these muslim terrorists attack Indian forces, what do they expect them to do? Sit on their hands? I heard once a muslim in Kashmir saying that "Kashmiri Pandits(hindus) killing was collateral"...Well, guess what? Literally Blood boiled while reading the review...Wen I saw Haider, somehow didnt leave a good feeling....But this review was spot on and made things so much more clear. In Hyderabad itself, Pak flags keep flying in old city and its an open bloody secret. Can easily imagine wat wud the scene be in Kashmir. The film has a clear anti-India tone. The protagonist is son of a doctor who also is a member of militant gang of Kashmiri separatists. The wife and brother of the doctor report presence of terrorists in home to military. Military catches the doctor and kills all the militants. The hero âHaiderâ is supposed to take revenge for this. In entire film, all dialogues and all characters make one clear assumption â that anything and anyone who supports India is a bad guy. Anything and anyone who hates India or Indian Army or is a militant is a good guy. The greatest crime of bad guys is that they believe in Indian democracy or chose to support Indian Army instead of militants. D. Indian Army is shown to be tyrants. They torture even innocents brutally. In one scene, they castrate a young man during torture even though they knew he was innocent. E. In one scene, Army asks all militants to shout âJai Hindâ. The father of Haider refuses to shout so, and hence is punished. In anger, he asks his companion to inform his son that he must take revenge for all this. Thus a âheroâ is born from Haider whose only agenda in life is to kill those who love India. This continues without remorse till end of the film. For humble soldiers like me, âJai Hindâ is the only call for which we live and die. This alone is our mantra, our kalma, our slogan. F. In last scene, after all killing and destruction, the hero heads towards Pakistan. | ||
