ok you are not seeing the point here accidental discovery happens when they are trying to discover a cure for something else, in the case of ebola there have not been any concentrated efforts to find a cure. Moreover ebola not being prevalent like other diseases in any of the developed countries there never was an effort to develop a cure. Any research needs samples for study and due to the rare incidence of this disease its difficult to get live samples to work with. No pharmacy company invests money in a drug that is not profitable tammi. A simple drug research and launch to market costs 100s of millions of $ and without the potential reward no one will invest which is what happened in case of Ebola virus. Due to the low incidence rate and limited impact of the virus (geographically) no pharma company has spent the resources to research and develop a drug for this one as it is not profitable.
