Land prices are no even reachable to middleclass

The biggest reason I hear why TDP is favoring VGTM is because in other places where capital will come , Cognress, YSRC people bought huge lands. |

Rujjai.. politically Vij-Guntur or anyplace near to that is better. Vizag olllu tho problem enti antey.. they think "govt doesnt do anything for them".. it will take only 15 years for them to start separate UA.
And as for development in Vizag, it is garunteed that ITIR , new ports and manufacturing Units are going to be established in Vizag. They already have a international airport. Soon they will get a railway zone.
On top of it, AP as a whole may not get Special Status. But UA and Rayalseema qualify by all measurable parameters for Special Status... so these zones will get special status, fueling the industrial setups.
Ongole is also fine as a capital.. but not vizag.

oorukovayya..i lived in guntur for 20+ yrs and have more properties int hat area than vizag..u cant run away from facts..dont let emotions take over..think practically..all i am saying is instead of developing a capital from scratch at one place..name a better city as capital and use whatever funds we get from center to develop entire state. infra wise vizag is much better than vij/guntur.

the right solution is to use existing infra in multiple cities ... even vizag alone cannot meet infra needed for the capital. Make use of infra in cities like Vizag, Vijayawada, Guntur, Nellore, Tirupati, and Kurnool to facilitate the functions of all departments. |

Sources said the Sivaramakrishnan Committee members informed Naidu that it would be highly expensive to develop the capital city between Vijayawada-Guntur as most of the land there belongs to private parties and acquiring it would cost the exchequer Rs 50 lakh per acre. The committee cautioned that relying on the Centre for financial help to develop the capital city would not be correct if previous instances are any indication. During the reorganization of Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, the then NDA government had given only Rs 738 crore to Chhattisgarh, Rs 200 crore to Jharkhand and Rs 438 crore to Uttarakhand for constructing their new capitals.
"The committee made it clear that no government would be able to fund the capital city development which may cost over Rs 1.2 lakh crore as per the AP government estimates," said a member of the state capital committee. According to him, the Sivaramakrishnan panel suggested to the CM to focus on employment generation which is possible only though industrialization of all districts. "The TDP government should focus on getting more natural gas from the KG basin to boost industrialization of the new state which is likely to face a huge employment crisis due to loss of Hyderabad. This was the advice of the panel," said the sources.
Following protests from the people of Rayalaseema that their region was not being considered for the new capital, the AP CM has urged the experts committee to visit the region. Now, the Sivaramakrishnan Committee is to tour Kadapa, the district it had skipped, during their recent trip to the region. Apart from Kadapa, the panel members are also scheduled to visit Nellore, Prakasam, Srikakulam and Vizianagaram
