well plan didnt work out last year... defense side leaders ni retire chesaru. So young players were supposed to step up into captain and leadership roles.. that didnt happen till first half of the season... As i said.. coaches did their best.. but the depth issues were clearly seen by people closely watching. Defensive Line lo, we had no depth behind the first 3. And first 3 lo kuda 1 of them is only backup quality. Same thing with Corner Backs.. Ike Taylor was number one corner back... because younger ones got injured. So he was guarding the top WR and getting burnt and entire defense broke. We had litterally no one at the Outside Linebacker... so they pushed Troy Polamalu to play in the box for almost 50% of the snaps. Jarvis Jones was supposed to be great.. but he played a rookie who had great upside. We had versatile inside line backers... But lack of speed in corner backs... and weak Defensive line and safety playing in box... even run defense suffered eventually. yeah... what happened is we lost on lot of young talent by extendding the veterans for long time. Last year literally we had only 20 NFL worthy players on roster.... Defense was a wreck... this year draft looks promising. But thats about it... we dont know who will be good and who will not be at NFL level... so we need one more draft to close those gaps... But this year looks promising.. cause our offense is all set... OL is healthy... RBs are set.... WRs are ok...
