Yes, it will be and there are no tricks needed. For my daughters' NICU stay we got a bill of around 200K from our hospital - 2 yrs after the stay. They said the insurance company was not responding and told us that they are sorry to call me which they only do as a last resort. They asked me to talk to the insurance company, but I had to switch my insurance company already. Then they told me they will try again with insurance or write off this payment. Good for them, the insurance company approved the payment. | ||

Yes, hospitals typically have social workers and others to help you get some financial help and others as well like making you aware of Government programs that could give financial help. As you said, it's income dependent, so most of the program may not be suitable. But some will definitely help like third party organizations who are helping us pay of my daughter's one medication every month, which even after insurance cost 3K per month. | ||

Twitter - Kids with ALL might need to go multiple sittings but each sitting will be small when compared to AML. I went through this in 2012-13 when my daughter was treated for AML, Her cancer was completely gone after first phase but we lost her during fourth phase when she got bacterial infection. Chemo drugs are so power full, they kill all cancer cells as well as good cells and till they recover they will have zero resistance. The recovery phase after chemo is very important as it takes some time for WBC to comeback and during this time they will have no resistance. Ask your Friend to be very careful during this time, don't allow visitors who are sick (even cold, cough) and don't allow visitors to touch his kid I stayed in kids cancer hospital for 6 months with my daughter, based on my observation, Kids will ALL recover much faster and have very very high chances of recovery. Regarding Finances - Insurance will cover majority, i had to spend around 20k (hospital charged insurance around 1.2 M for those 6 months. If he is non IT, there are many programs which help/fund Kids with cancer. There is a limit on Income like less than 100k (total house hold i guess, we weren't qualified because of this limit) to be qualified. There will be social workers in the hospital who will help in providing applications and getting them processed. I donated and will give this link to my friends. | ||

my friends daughter has been diagnosed with ALL(acute lymphoblastic leukemia), she is 3 yrs old now undergoing treatment in MUSC (charleston, SC) she is responding well to the treatment. he is not openly coming out for donations for so many personal reasons but knowing his situation one of his friend opened a donation account here http://www.fundme.com/en/projects/5870-3-Years-Old--battling -Cancer for financial help. my friend is a business guy doing just ok with his business, besides this heart-wrenching tragedy now he has to worry about upcoming medical bills. its been a month already and bills already started hitting him..only help I can do is donate to my capacity, support morally and above all post this here to get your help..he needs your prayers and financial contribution. if you want to know more about my friend you can email me at ccdbtwitter gmail. |
