Affirming that the YSR Congress Party will honour the people’s verdict, party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy said that his party would play the role of a constructive opposition and will continue to be with the people fighting for their cause. “We honour the verdict given by the people and we will be in the opposition playing a constructive role and bounce back in the next term,” Jagan told reporters here on Friday after the results and thanked all the people who reposed faith in the party and voted in its favour. Attributing the reasons for the defeat, he said it was Modi wave along with the false promises of N Chandrababu Naidu that went against the Party. “We were never in power and were not relegated to opposition. In fact we started off with one MP and one MLA increased the tally to 2 MPs and 20 MLAs and now we having 10 MPs and 70 MLAs. Due to certain circumstances including the Modi factor and people believing the false promises of Chandrababu Naidu we received a setback.
