i hold stocks/options the least time possible  from my understanding, few things 1. forget that you are holding the stock. would you buy it at this point as a first time buyer? if not, liquidate it 2. do you trust the managementand their products/services? if so, hold it 3. what is their plan for the future, based on recent earning transcripts? if it is a company/product where you can shop, how do you see the enthusiasm of fellow shoppers? 4. if the company is going down, do you trust the management on a turnaround ? some of the things i can think of.
