First things first , I do not think if people vote for the sops they are wrong- everyone should think about how the the new govt.impacts them and for people whose day to day livelihood is a problem - they should think about the best sops.. Only people who have no dearth of roti, kapda , makaan will think about the impacts to economy, national security etc...not people who have to worry about their next meal.. Two - yes people will not vote just for freebies but for security - of their livelihood, their medical care, their kids education etc.. once the short term anxieties are addressed they will look at long term - so by sops I do not mean biriyani packets/TVs, but sustained support - whether it is FCI, or Arogyasri, or reservations or reduced electricity and water rates  The foolish man seeks happiness in the distance; the wise grows it under his feet : James Oppenheim | ||
