I have got my car windshield replaced two weeks back. I have made the CASH settlement with the insurance and contacted the local glass work guy and got it replaced for cheaper. Insurance never pays the Dealer Glass (for types of glasses check Glass.net). They only offers(initially) the AFTER MARKET glass. But I want at least OEM glass. Did some research on OEM glasses and found the model number of OEM glass for my car. From Glass.net, I found my local glass works guy. Made an online order on glass.net. Called the local guy (Glass.net order gives the details of the local guy), they said that they would do it for $180. Searched for the local guy's yelp reviews, found that one got it done for $150 for the same work. Called back the local guy and asked if they could do the same for $150. He has agreed. The guy came to my home and replaced my glass in 45 min. I gave him $155(a $5 tip). I have snagged $387 check from Insurance settlement. Here I made sure that the glass I want(even Insurance also said that they would give the same glass). All good. | ||

call up ur insurance - if it is small ( they specify - i dunno if it quarter coin or dollar bill) then they will send someone to fix it for free.. and the fix is good... other options u have is - there is places that fix for cheap - next to junk yards - if the junk yard has similar model with windshield on - did this for a friends car door window - we replaced it ourselves and costed 20bucks instead of 250... Thammud, couple of years ago naa car venaka windshield pagilindi- I called insurance (GEICO) and they said they would cover it but I have to pay the deductable which was $250 I called Safelite and asked for a quote- they said it would be $300 I called few other people from Google and found a local company and they gave me a quote for $150. Vaade intiki vacchi windshield replace chesi vellaadu just for $150. geico only pays for repairs if the crack is less than a dollar bill. usually cost to replace will be less than deductible. call safelite and make an appointment, they will come to ur work place and fix. u can bargain saying u got a better quote from local people | ||
