Similar review from similar director and cameraman !!!!

http://www.telugucinema.com/c/publish/moviereviews/jagadam_m oviereview.php

Analysis

Director Sukumars highly anticipated, Jagadam, has superior technical values. As a technician he proves his worth again but it is a heartbreakingly disappointing film. It is high on gloss and low on substance. With his debut movie (Aarya), Sukumar proved his mettle as a technician. No doubt, Sukumars taking style is excellent. Jagadam boasts great music, carefully shot beautiful scenes, fine performances and rich production values. Where Sukumar falters this time is in the script department.

The story that he has chosen is hard to digest. Though his intention is good but the theme is not new one. Inspired by City of God, he makes this film about youth taking up as violence as means of living. But it is too documentary at times and lacks entertainment.

In Aarya, the heros characterization, music, screenplay and cinematography came in his hand. But in Jagadam, camerawork (by Ratnavelu) alone dominates and the rest of the drama is very futile.

The first half is okay but the post interval scenes are too heavy to digest for common audiences. It is evident that many scenes and words are chopped off by the Censors. Even the word 'Sania Mirza' in one song and 'Violence is Passion' is removed in the film that are available in audio albums.

The narrative mode of the first half an hour is straight lift from City of God.

Whats hot!

Camera work stands out. Ratnavelus work is extraordinary. In many sequences his work grabs the attention of the eye. As a director, Sukumar has shot some scenes too creatively. The action episode that happens soon after hero and heroines first night in the early morning mist is shot so beautifully. Heros brother taking up gun and following scenes are masterstrokes. Devi Sri Prasads music is the main asset. All the songs are great. Two songs Jagadam is Passion and 5 Ft 8 Inches are good on the screen.

Raam has agile body. He does the role so convincingly. He has grace in dance moments and also is best in action scenes. He is here to stay. But his small body is not that effective for the role. Pradeep Rawat as villain is good. A S Ravi Kumar Chowdhary has good body language to do a negative character. The kid does neat job.

Technically it is no doubt is on highest standards.

Whats not!

Lack of entertainment is the major problem. It is too serious. Heroine Isha is good on photographs but on screen she looks so awful. There is no novelty in the story. Many of the scenes and shots are oft repeated in many of the films. Even the theme and the structure are also seen in Sambhavami Yugey Yugey (which is poor copy of City of God) and Dhoolpet. Satya Prakashs character, Ravi Kumar Chowdharys roles are no way connected main story.

Sukumar says violence is corporatised now and that is why youth are drawing towards violence. But the same was also said in Ram Gopal Varmas Company. So where is the novelty?

Bottom-line

One cant simply digest and associate with Jagadam however aesthetically shot. Sukumar, the talented director, has chosen wrong subject. His good intentions do not materialize on to the screen. A film should either enlighten or entertain. Jagadam does neither. The first half was promising but post interval, the film collapses. Too much fret and fury about nothing.

Filmytime is back with an pre release report of “1-Nenokkadine”. Mahesh babu, Kriti sanon are playing the leads in the film and Sukumar is directing this action entertainer. Devi sri Prasad, for the first time in his career gave tunes to Mahesh Babu and the songs are already out there entertaining music lovers. The film is all set to release this January 10th. The censor of the film has been done. Here is the pre-release report for this highest budgeted film of TFI.

First Half:

Movie begins with a lighter vein but later picks up pace.
Who are you would be undoubtedly the best shot song these days.
Visual feast of action sequences.
Racy Screenplay ties you to the screen.
First half leaves fans/common audience spell bound and the only term that rotates in their mind is “Industry Hit”.

Second half:

Dragging screenplay.
Boring action sequences though they are one of the best shots of the industry.
Nothing impressive except the last 15-20 min (Pre-climax) and songs.
Last 10min came out very well.

And that is all. As Usual First Half of the movie came out very well with an interesting Interval bang.Second Half doesn’t meet the standards that are expected. The only saving grace in the second half is the rich visuals and Pre-Climax/Climax. No Comedy adds to the negatives in the movie. But we can’t expect comedy always in an Action Entertainer. However the big plus point to the film is its run time(146 min) and songs. The film being short doesn’t tend to be too boring. And if this aspect really helps, we are sure that this Sankranthi we shall be witnessing the highest collected ever film of TFI and if it doesn’t, Nenokkadine would be another Businessman.

In addition to the above mentioned information, we are also attaching the songs order in the film below and also a dailouge accompanied together.

Who are you
Aww Tuzo Mogh
You are my love
Sayonara
London Babu

Expected Dialogue in the movie : “Nuvvu Vandha Mandhini Chusuntav, Laksha Mandini Chusuntav kaani Nalanti vadini chusundav!! Naku nene! Nenokkadine!!”

Note : This is just an expected pre-release report of the movie from different sources. It is not a review/Opinion of the website.
