9yrs bangalore.. moved to hyd 4months back. anybody say, auto experience is worst in chennai and then next is bangalore. u might be knowing that, within hyd city, govt digitized every meter. bold step indeed. 2009 elections: party with highest number of candidates with criminal cases - TDP. | ||

10 years Bangalore ikkada, i don't think you have been to Hyd of late or have taken autos here...try taking an auto on meter, all autos have digital meters (that is the good thing) but not one auto guy is willing to come on meter...this is a sea change over the past 3-4 years, until last year this behaviour was restricted to new areas like Madhapur, Kondapur etc but now this is all across town... And please do not even compare Hyd. roads NOW to Bangalore roads, Hyd roads are backbreaking.... | ||

Hyd roads are second only to Chennai.. u have to see bangalore roads to appreciate Hyd infra.... ORR/IRR/interior roads.... even courtesy of autowalas and probability of getting auto with meter pricing is much more in hyd compared to bang. Infact, Its mandatory to have dig meter in hyd. I agree that, quality of living is low in hyd compared to bang. TATA AC buses, shared autos. I see people casually violating traffic rules, which traffic police dont care thse violations. 2009 elections: party with highest number of candidates with criminal cases - TDP. | ||

Roads and infrastructure Though the metro works are proceeding fast (much faster than i had seen in Bangalore), roads are totally screwed up in Hyderabad - vehicle suspension, your spine are bound to get knocked up a bit here... AP continues to be a city with undemanding people satisfying themselves with low quality work and products as long as they are cheap...whether it be buses or buildings..i visited many shopping complexes and most of them have bad finishing, poor lighting in parking lots, no signages, seepages in walls, cracked paints etc etc... I took the low floor city bus too - while Bangalore largely uses Volvos, in Hyd they largely use the third rate imitation which is Tata's Marco Polo which is noisy, polluting and should carry a statutory warning to people in a 50 metre radius....even the insides of these buses are badly maintained - stained seats, broken panels, AC vents not working... Not one auto guy is coming by meter...almost every day you end up with some bad taste in the mouth like what happens in Chennai....discussions and arguments with every auto. Over 2 weeks, i managed to get only auto to go by meter, that too after some negotiation.... There are less rickshaws in Tenali than Gurgaon, in fact you will be lucky to find any..which is quite sad, the noise of autos in these rural areas is quite jarring on the ears.... Tenali RS is getting escalators and elevators...yaaay Politics Not very visible activity outside. I did sense quite an undercurrent of fear among SA people and even more so among quite a few North Indian business people. Tenali lo veedhi chivarna intlo Umareddy kanapaddadu in a YSRCP office, aarubaita post prandial bathakani vesukuntunnadu.. Manohar buggalu bagunnayi nunnaga, Mont Blanc bavundhi - but veedhi ki two sides kotha ga lesina CISF security with 20 gunmen assalu bagaledhu...transport ki antharayam... My auto driver friends say Congress is not going to get seats in Hyderabad, screwed up the infrastructure and roads.. Food Every outlet has expanded. Paradise has quite a few outlets in town now. Takes away from the exclusivity in a way, though i never liked their food. Karachi bakery biscuits are also available in many other bakeries, a few years back i had to to Afzalgunj to get their biscuits. Did not eat out much expect in one place called Chowdary's in Kukatpally which was earlier called Southern Spice. Apparently management changed hands. Food was quite good and service was excellent, by Hyderabad standards... Movies Uyyala Jampala, D for Dopidi Even big halls in small towns are becoming like multiplexes...but the Rs50+ pricing in small towns is a bit tough to comprehend.... Anthe sangathulu...} |
