Tell you something. when you are doing weights you need eat around 3000+ calories. Still you wont put on weight. Starving would never give you results. it just make you feel that you are loosing. Body releases hormones based on what you eat. That becomes cycle and it expect samething everyday. If you change for couple of weeks then body wont expect samething again. Understand your body and eat based on that. Fat is not bad thing, carbs not bad. GM diet is good but intense, you are doing thus just for a week so what ever you loose come back very fast. You should not consider the first five pounds you loose any time they come back if you eat 2 decent dinners. I think the habits should change, If I were you I will try less/no carb diet for most of us indians carbs are the cluprit. eat as much as you want but no carbs, and If you wan to go a step ahead eat as much as you want no carbs and before 4pm. Jalsa. GM diet or any other diet is not permanent. you would loose lots of your water content in your body during this diet and you feel you lost lots of weight. But after you stop the diet , you would regain the weight back. When people say they are doing diet, they thing that they are going starve them-self. whatever it is , the basic rule is calories in and calories out difference makes you either gain weight or loose weight. diet means keeping your blood sugar level constant through out the day. Which would help your body to burn your fat rather than gaining it. For that you have eat small meals in frequent intervals. If you eat 3 times a day and heavy meal then your body gets lots of insulin from food and it uses what it need and extra it will store as fat. That is where you get belly. For initial result make small changes as following. eat healthy. 1) Eat small meals . 7 am , 10am, 12 pm 3pm 6pm, and 9pm. 2) avoid rice. make your meal with protien,hard carb and good fat. 3) add little bit of exercise. Just go for walk.
