@Cow, Full frame is big jump from DX format. 800 produces 32M pixel pics and I started cropping out the parts with still usable details. I still have 300s as backup  50 f/1.4, 105 f/2.8 14-24 f/2.8, 18-200 f/3.5, 150-500 f/5.6 Manfrotto 190CXPRO-4 with Ball Head SB-600, RFN-4s bunch of filters | ||

I don't know what is in Costco, but Manfrotto makes professional grade tripods. They usually start at $300 and goes all the way up to thousands. I own one and they are awesome. | ||

buy a decent model, take classes then build on your other equipment like lens, flash, photo editing software etc. practice is the only you get better, there are no short cuts. | ||

exactly. of course you still need a decent camera. I bought D7000 in summer, took classes. I am very happy with it overall. added couple of prime lens and other stuff like tripod, filters, polarisers. want to buy 70-200 f2.8 and better flash next year | ||
