with the advent of T20s and modern day batting techniques I dont think even the likes Akrams and Ambrose would stand a chance. Atleast their performance will not be the same as how they did in 90s era. In any case, when Batting become so easy for an ordinary batsman, why should the rules demand bowlers to be like McGraths, Walsh and Akrams? Pitch is even for batsmen of both teams. But my point is it should be even for both batsmen and bowlers. More than Pitch, I think the rules should be changed. coz if u see the highest ODI totals in recent times, they were not all happen in India. so its not a case of subcontinent pitches | ||

+1. I think it is very hard to get a perfect pitch. My most favorite pitch of all time = Edgbaston 99, WC semi. tied match. Pollock got 5, Warne 4 and fighting knocks from Waugh, Bevan, Kallis and Zulu ofcourse smoked it!
true dat..... EOD, no pitch curator wants each and every bowler to go for 360runs in 10 overs. to have long life for cricket my opinion cricket have three formats . icc should have different set of set forth rules for pitch make up for different formats. test cricket should be bowlers game . bouncers, long bounderies , classic drives, well lefts, grinding out for hours, pitches which can produce results through out the world same kind of pitches . so people who likes the classic drives and bouncers can enjoy . odi should be fight between bowlers and batsmen good 275 to 290 pitches. reverse swing, part time bowlers magic, lower order sloggging, people who like the fight between bat and bowl , who likes the nail biting tension like can they made 65 in 55 balls with 4 wickets in hand etc. t20 should be completely batsmen game short bounderies, fielder ristrictions out side circle , people who likes fireworks can enjoy. my 2 cents | ||

That is for the bowlers to address. I am thinking McGrath and Malinga, Akram and Ambrose would not have been tonked like this. As long as both teams are playing on the same pitch, I don't think pitch should be an issue. Let the hometeam decide what pitch they want to play on and lets just get the match without complaints/whining. In Tennis, Davis Cup is like this - Spain has never played outside a claycourt in aout 15 or so years in their den! Nobody complains. Champions trophy in England? Was that flat tracks, too? The pitch was the same for both teams. It was not like India played in sub-continent while Australia batted in Australia right. I am confident India would have chased this 384 much better than Aus did. There is a reason India is ranked no.1 in ODIs. I don't think this team will disgace itself in Australia like the previous ones did. Remember Hobart in 2012? We chased down 300+ at about 9 an over. I think this unit deserves credit. superb knock.... no matter how flat the pitch is.....this score is phenomenal..... very good that we have two openers firing just 14/15 months to go to WC...... coming to flat pitches.....this year's IPL where Hyderabad played are all flat pitches but they made good matches out of them with good bowling.....ofcourse steyn byt also ishant sharma was part of the team.....sunil narine did well and so did Malinga....... BCCI getting stick on flat pitches is ok....but looking down on our batsmen is bad...... the fight in the batting order is a very happy thing for indian fan.....beleif that we can chase or score these big scores...... in a way good that our bowling is exposed with time in hand for WC......surely they will work it out....and batting unit confidence will rub on other departments for sure..... we are a force.......no one can deny that in ODI's and short format........
