To be a bit more specific, I feel closer to say folks in the Bay Area or mid West as i have worked and moved with them a lot more.. i understand them better, i can interact with them better..i was wrong to say i was close to the US, even the US is a nebuluous concept of a country... Singapore of course is not a country too, it is a colony.. This is illogical. It is purely based on your "feeling" of closeness. When you say you are closer to US - do you mean to say you are closer to people of Alabama, or Kentucky, Texans, Yankees?, whites, blacks, mexicans when you say "US". Truth anedhi chala relative term, and it does not escape the realm of human perception. For how much ever intelligent we assume ourselves to be, the truth of an afghan Taliban is as True to him as is our truth to ourselves. You can be against the War, you can be against your countries stand, but if you are supporting the enemy of your country - based on the Truth you perceive, you are committing treason. I represent India wherever I go, its an identity that matters most when I am in a foriegn land. If i do not agree with my countries principles, it is my duty to work on it, but will not take the help of an enemy to achieve what I perceive as the Truth.
In principle this is outstanding and humans hopefully will reach this stage someday, but sadly this identity is one of the most important thing that gets attached to a human right from the moment of birth.
