hmm... people claim that we have invented zero.... kaani outside India, hardly anyone gives India that credit.... The two which strike me as worth bragging about are a) the sheer no. of languages that we have - atleast 10-12 languages that are bigger than most European countries. And countless other smaller languages. These are not similar languages like European languages where the script is similar or like Mandarin/ Cantonese where even the words and meanings are similar (only accents are different), these are damn different languages in script, grammar, everything b) Though i am an atheist, Hinduism has to be our another big bragging right. It is the most liberal, tolerant religion of all, though some of the offshoots like casteism etc are not worth mentioning. c) One of the cradles of religion apart from the Middle East (where all the Abrahamic religions started from). But on an another note, India was not a nation state in this form during the evolution of all the above noteworthy points. I can't come up with any since our existing nation state was formed. | ||
