this is a misconception.. the problem goes undetected in most cases. Majority of People dont even realise that they need help or they are in depression. Depends on the severity and how it manifests - not everyone turns manic My point is it is treatable - but the patient needs to acknowledge the problem and commit to treatment, and the family needs to be able to enforce it when the patient is not in the frame of mind to follow through... Not saying it is easy on anyone - not the patient, not the family. But to Neel's point anonymous support groups are very helpful - where people can talk about their problems without feeling like the only wacko in the world. It helps them open up and acknowledge the issues... The sooner they acknowledge the problem , more chances of treating it successfully..with medication, behavior therapy, meditation, exercises and many other options. And if a diabetic miss medication for a certain period of time - things wont become worse where as for mentally disoriented patients - a few days off on medication, things get ugly. Good Family support ante there needs to be lot of sacifices on part of family members.Mental patient spouse or parents - valla own life ni pakkanetti total ga dedicated ga undali. I dont know how serious post partum bipolar disorders are.. but men with mental disorders such as bipolar or schizophrenia, are difficult to treat/cure than women. | ||

bi polar dis order antey your behaviour follows the patterns of the extrems of a sign wave....when you are high you feel invincible....you will shed inhibitions....you are over confident.... and when you are low you go in to that darkest corner that ur brain can push to....u feel hopeless....sad...lonely....scared....weak and suicidal.... so the psychiatists treat you to make you stay in that zone between these two extremes.....and bi polar is perfectly treatable... Most recent case is britney spears...if u can recollect in 2007 she shaved her head, she started flashing her privates in public and next moment she was gone for days hiding in her mansion....and then she was treated for bi polar and now she is fine.... same with robert downey jr , kishore kumar , Mozart and many more super talented artists ....all these had bi polar.... bi polar n schizo etc also helps u to tap that untouched part of ur creative brain and makes u produce some of the best music or a performance or watever....some of the best music that ever came out in this world was produced by musicians who have mental issues or when they were high on drugs... | ||

Last Thursday my MS roommate also died in a Bike Accident...The accident was my friends Fault..he was speeding on a local road and hit the curb to avoid a car and hit a tree with head first. He had a helmet and that did not help and was spot dead.Guy was Married 2 months exactly to the day of the accident and the girl is also in India. My Friends sent the body today and all the funeral services( Body Viewing) and transportation cost us $6000. Guys please drive your cars and Bikes safely. Once something happens its the family and dear ones that suffer the most | ||

Agree on the social interaction part - but for people with depressive tendencies its important to keep it physical... Virtual world can turn into an abyss for people who live in their heads - an escape from reality - where they create virtual personalities and live disconnected from the real world- no feedback, no consequences on their thoughts/actions .. No one to pay attention to the mood swings and behavior issues...Having the virtual network is like eating empty calories - it satiates the need and takes away the drive to get out there and make the effort to build a physical network.. Maddi Suresh Babu, a software engineer, 37 years, from Davenport, Iowa died of overdose of medication that was take for his Bipolar disorder on Monday, July 11th. Suresh, a graduate of BITS Pilani, hails from Dhulipudi village in Guntur District is survived by wife, two children and parents Koteswara Rao and Gangajalam. Friends and family members of Suresh Babu requested TANA to help with logistics to send the remains of Suresh to India. TANA TEAM Square Chairman Anjaiah Chowdary Lavu and Mohan Nannapaneni, TANA Executive Vice President have completed all procedures in time and it is expected that the remains of Suresh Babu will reach Hyderabad by Tuesday, July 19th. TANA, a dedicated community organization that has been helping the Telugu community for over 35 years has handled three more death cases since July first week. On July 3rd, Mrs. Doke mother of Santosh passed away due to natural causes and her remains have been shipped to Hyderabad on July 6th. On July 4 th Jayaram Pangipalli, an IT Consultant drowned in the Tennessee river and passed away and his remains have been shipped to Hyderabad on July 7th. On July 7th, P. Veerabhadram passedaway with a massive heart attack and the deceased has been shipped to Chennai on July 10th. Prasad Thotakura, TANA President, expressed his deepest condolences to Maddi, Doke, Pangapalli and Veerabhadram families who lost their loved ones. Prasad thanked TANA TEAM Square Volunteers Gopal Vedula, Nagesh Narmeth, Suresh Kakarla, Hanumanth Kanthi, Venkat Duddukuri, Kavitha, Padma and Jaganmohan who provided needed help and TANA Officials Anjaiah Chowdary Lavu, Mohan Nannapaneni who helped with all logistics in sending the deceased to India.
