NRIs stage rally for Telangana in London Staff Reporter Submit memorandum , documentary video film to British Prime Minister Observe 2-minute silence as a mark of respect to Telangana martyrs Ask elected representatives to resign KARIMNAGAR: The Non-Resident Indians of Telangana Development Forum (TDF) - UK Europe - have expressed their solidarity to the ongoing pro-Telangana agitational programmes demanding the formation of separate Telangana state by staging a protest rally in front of British Parliament in London on February 16. According to a press note issued through an e-mail here today, TDF UK Europe president Shivarajkiran Pasunuri, general secretary Uday Kumar, advisory committee member Kamal Voruganti and others participated in the rally and a delegation submitted a memorandum and documentary video film about the importance of creation of separate Telangana to British Prime Minister Gordon Brown at 10 Downing Street, London, requesting him to convey their concerns to the Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. They demanded the government to introduce a bill in the Parliament for the creation of separate State, instead of constituting Justice Sri Krishna Committee. They also suggested the Sri Krishna committee to seek the opinion of Telangana NRIs worldwide for the formation of Telangana. The TDF members also observed two minutes of silence as a mark of respect to the Telangana martyrs and paid tributes to their supreme sacrifices. They also condemned the police lathi-charge on the students and the media personnel on Osmania university campus. They also demanded the elected representatives of both the Congress and TDP to resign their posts demanding the formation of Telangana state. |
