If 3rd umpire made a decision, that means he think the evidence is conclusive. 3rd umpire is 99% of the times in a better position to judge than the field umpire. | ||

On field decision is NOT out The evidence is inconclusive (You said it is 50-50) Worst case - batsmen should get benefit of doubt. If you dont call these things out, umpires will never evolve and not learn to use technology for decision making. that picture does not prove anything. there are 2 sounds. one with bat and one with pad. Third umpire felt first one was bat and if you look from side angle not front or back (as the picture he tweeted), you will see that there is slight distance between bat and pad. Nope.. Hotspot technology was proven to be easily defeat-able. If bats have a little bit of anti-heat coating, then faint edges are not noticed at all by the hotspot technology, which primarily relies on heat mapping.
