True - I have always found Rishikesh more energizing than Haridwar though Ganga arti is better in Haridwar.. I repent not going to kedarnath badrinath staying while 300kms away from it for for 2 years. Been to Haridwar more than 10 times and Rishikesh more than 6 times . Rishikesh lo oka aura vuntadi.. I like it. White water rafting ki best place in india. | ||

my parents did this trip couple of years ago, some travel agency arranged everything for them kani Heli tickets andariki ivva ledhu, group lo kondaru donkey or mule ride teesukovalsi vachindhi aa age lo aa rides kashtam make sure you get heli tickets confirmed | ||

Pawan Hans, Aryan aviation , Himalayan heli , Thumby aviation are the ones I checked ... if you have an agent who can do Chardham with heli that would work for your reqmt.. for example.. the portal u used ? i am looking to send my parents.. along with their enthu group.. people are good at spending, but bad at actual research.. i heard there is an travel org in BZA.. they organise 1 month trip on all south indian temples.. It was a mess - tenders to operators were not given till the week of season start... Online booking was selling out as soon as it opened so ended up getting at a premium from an agent thru contacts - was very stressful as he did not confirm till 11 pm on the night before... When do you plan to go ? Should be easier after the summer - check the companies who have the permit and their online booking portals. Arti i feel is better at haridwar.. Rishikesh kuda bane commercialise aipoindi.. we took a cab for these 2 places from Noids.. didnt have time for going upstream .. how did u manage Kedarnath Heli trip ? cost and recomm kavala.. brahma satyam jagan-mithyä jivo brahmaiva näparah | ||

Planned to visit Rishikesh to go visit Swami Dayananda’s samadhi - tacked on kedarnath & deoria tal because Jim Corbett was going to be closed for monsoon ... Flew into Delhi - connecting flight to Dehradun and took a cab to Rishikesh Dayananda Ashram ! It’s a beautiful ashram right on the river bank so a very serene stay ...visited the samadhi ...then went over for a quick stop at laxmanjhoola and then to Ganga Aarthi at Parmaarth ashram - ythat ashram is a complete opposite ... pretty premises but very big production, speeches, politicians and film folks attending the Arathi - felt commercial .., should have gone to triveni ghat instead ... Next morning woke up early to enjoy the sunrise on the gangs from the ashram , attended 6 am Pooja at temple , had breakfast and started for kedarnath 8 hour drive along the ghats with breathtaking views and stops at DeoPrayag and Rudraprayag ..reached Phata by 7 pm and checked into Villa Aadya for 2 nights! Beautiful property, views and decent food ... Next morning was asked to report to helipad at 8.30 but was given a boarding time of 1 pm ... so was stressing out a bit about making it before the temple closed at 3 ... But thankfully made it by 1.30 ish ... yet again beautiful views on the ride up and down .. Reached up and had snow/freezing rain for a few mins and was disappointed that the clouds covered the Kedar dome diminishing the impact of the view ...which was the USP for my atheist boys Had Vip tickets( mandatory for heli) so beat the line and finished darshan , Abhishek in 30 mins and by the time we came out the sky had started clearing .. visited Bhimshila at the back ( the rock that lodged behind the temple & protected the temple structure from the impact of the flash flood ) and as we started walking back to the helipad - kedar dome showed up in its full glory - and that view wish was fulfilled too Had an hour and halftime to soak in the mountain views , the rivers and enjoy the atmosphere ... Came down by 5 pm ... Drove up to Triyugi Narayan temple - the place Vishnu conducted the marriage of Shiva and Parvati - pretty crazy ghat roads up to that temple ... Back to the hotel and rest... Next morning checked out and went to Sari village for the trek to Deoria tal.,. Started trekking and halfway met people coming down and they said the view was all clouded up and the lake itself did not have enough water ...some and boys decided to come back .. 3 other members of our group took ponies so they went all the way up Interesting experience for me was a Temple halfway up the trek tended by an old man and his wife! The wise man explained the significance and features of the li gam with naturally occurring chandra and snake forms on the stone.. hardly any visitors there but he said the sanyasis in the hills come and do Puja there He also demonstrated how milk poured on the lingam instantly separates into clear and white suspension .. and also how the Ganga dhara flows in formations down the linga had a nice 10 min philosophical conversation before heading back down ...
