You can setup a trust on your kids name and assign a guardian to avoid a govt takeover. You can define this in the will. The trust setup works if something happens before they are 18. After that the rules are little different where they can get more access to our assets. | ||

ok just confirmed this with a couple of colleagues as well... you don't have to be in 60's etc for survivor benefits.. Perfect 2 years ago we both got our life insurance policies .I made a last will through legal zoom and named my sister and SIL as guardians...Legazoom last will process is so simple..Just fill out all the details like asset distribution/guardians for kids etc and print out the will and get it signed by 2 witnesses and notarize. You can include in a will. One of my Gora friend told me about this recently. There was an incident where the gora parents died in a fire accident when the kid was in a play date. As they dont have this setup, the kid (12 years old) was given to the foster system. Foster system here is for things like this. Govt spends a lot of money on this. He said it is no different for us if the kid is a US citizen. I am doing more research on this. But so far it seems like that. if it is simple, who not do it. Just declare your immediate family members or friends or both. | ||

Add insurance for spouses too..usually for ladies, the premium is very less... just checked my premiums, n when i added my wife for the equal amount as i was insured, her share of premium for the same amount is 55% less than my premium... go back n re-visit your insurance, n do the math...
