i watched uncut version ,.....which is about 2 hours 25 min... ok movie.... Capacity vundi, laziness, and uninspired life is a waste of time. YOLO kada.... But experiences is how you bring meaning to life. Worthiness should be earned with adequate efforts. | ||

Was browsing Einthusan fo movies to watch and Mohalla Assi came up ... saw the blurb that it’s about Kashi and Sunny Deol in that avatar looking out of place and was going to scroll past and happened to see Chandraprakash Dwivedi’s name as director . I have been a fan of the man since Doordarshan Chanakya days and his Pinjar was amazing too . His research and attention to detail is impeccable so started watching and boy did he live up to expectations .. Set in Kashi in the 90’s it’s a fantastic take about a culture , a society , the evolution and effects of modernization and the pain of transition ,swings between a satire and an introspection The chai Dukan as I watched the movie was so reminiscent of the DB of a decade ago - where we discussed all things political , cultural and philosophical without the rancor of today’s discussions .. Some excellent acting from an ensemble cast , great art design , fantastic one liners and commentary , language is a little raw ...but authentic .. Sunny Deol struggles to look and act like a panda but decent effort..
