This is a pandemic problem in government caused by business and President Trump should not support it. I support him, but not THIS. What happened with your friend's son is just the tip of the iceberg and that worker who replaced him has a personal priority and goal to wheedle out the conditions to obtain a green card and become a citizen, undoubtedly. They ALL DO IT. They get that green card and then they leave for a better job and then they start bringing in their whole damn family. The company then goes back to the government for another visa to start the vicious cycle all over again. This is what is killing America.

Companies should have very stringent restrictions on the quantity and type of employment visas and they should have to rejustify their quotas every year and be reviewed - even perhaps by citizen panels of former workers. Government ought to be looking very hard and long at each application.

Finally, I'll say this. We also need to stop student visas for higher education. The intent for them is for the students to learn and go back and help elevate their own country. They never do. Just like H1-Bs they get a job (probably H1-B) stay here and wheedle a green card and then get naturalized. That's how we got Sundar Pichai of Google. Do we really want people like him here as citizens? NO.
