Just finished watching Pataakha on Prime ... If you liked Matru ki bijli ... you will like this too... trademark Vishal Bharadwaj story telling...lead actresses were fantastic - Sunil Grover’s Naradmuni Dipper was impeccable, Vijay Raaz lived the part of the exhausted but indulgent father ... interesting storyline of sibling rivalry , excellent location, costumes , music, hilarious dialogues, very rustic Rajasthan village setting... narrative sagged a bit in the middle of a the 2nd half but caught up agin .. Rajasthani dialect may be hard to catch for some ...the india Pakistan metaphor was repeated once too often but still a fun movie to watch loved the fact that Vishal’s leading ladies looked dressed and carried themselves like they belonged in the village ...The foolish man seeks happiness in the distance; the wise grows it under his feet : James Oppenheim | ||

sometimes everything else being dumb gets the audience to focus on the central idea - and the angst of a father trying to connect with his son across emotional, generational and technological gaps came over nicely...

Some offbeat ones I liked Once Again- on NEtflix Gangoobai - stumbled on it but it’s a beautiful movie -must watch - don’t remember if it was on Prime or Netflix VikramVedha- if you did not watch it ( could not find one with subs so watched the Hindi dub - dubbing’s awful but still the movie was gripping though violent.. Kuch Bheege Alfaaz - cute chick flick , nice setting for the story ,phenomenal acting by the leads October ..
