quite a good sight ahead .. also I am fearing a big round of farm suicides to start in the next 2 years. MSP ante gittu baatu dhara gurinchenaa.... if so, dont worry, govt (present one, atleast) is least bothered about farmer's welfare. gittu baatu dhara pencharu.... my guess of how things will unfold in next few decades 1) there will be heavy shortfall of food items as farmers give up farming because of unaffordable prices that they see 2) govt, showing the deficiency of food items and ever increasing demand, will allow gt/gm and other hybrid forms of food varieties 3) and initially, the outcome would be more and prices would be less and farmers would be given special packages (to switch to gt/gm) and voices of concerned groups will be choked showing people who are starving 4) and corporates will take over farming completely edo naaa thikka, dont ask me to substantiate any of the above points..... just my guess.... The tragedy of the country and our agricultural supply chain is that during other times, you will have farmers throwing tomatoes on the roads as it is not worth the cost of transportation..i have personally seen this, when tomatoes were at 2-4 Rs per kg during some years earlier..they just used to dump them on the roads... | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
