In ODIs there is no comparison, Tendulkar is better. Tendulkar is one of the greatest batsmen ever to play the game...some one who actually invented a few cricketing shots... But - it is a UNBIASED fact that his body has slowed down which is perfectly natural....his arm muscles, his back, hamstring are slow compared to what they were 4-5 years back.....and this slowing increases dramatically from 38-40 onwards. The eye sight might be the same...the mind might be the same....but when the feet,back muscles and hands do not cooperate - a batsman will find incoming deliveries hard to face.... 20 years later when some one looks back at the record books it makes a lot of difference to seeing Sachin Tendulkar averaging 56...vis a Vis Sachin Tendulkar averaging 52/53 - He should NOT become another Kapil Dev. | ||

Tendulkar is one of the greatest batsmen in test cricket..... And problem with getting clean bowled - and that in the last 3-4 years.... Earlier he used to punch an incoming ball or pull it ...now to the same delivery, he is getting clean bowled.....This is not a problem - Just unable to bear the sight of Tendulkar's stumps rattled.... | ||

His Test average was 56 not long ago..Today it is down to 53...and if he tours SA, it might go down further - looking at the form Dale Steyn is in. Even yesterday, Danny Morrison while commenting said "Dale Steyn vs a 40 yr old Tendulkar"... In 2010, Tendulkar played the innings of his lifetime in SA against Steyn.....and as a great lover of Sachin tendulkar I want that in nings to be in my memory...not tendulkar getting bowled to incoming balls or getting beaten to rising deliveries outside off | ||

Team Player - Meaning - willing to be used by the team in the way best for the team - rahul dravid opened the innings on a number of occosions for the sake of the team balance. He kept wickets for the sake of the team blance. When Tendulkar was asked to drop himself down the order as Sehwag was in his prime and the middle order was weak in Limited overs cricket, he sulked and did not produce the same cricket that was expected of him.... But purely from a technique perspective - both are great players...a pleasure to watch. | ||

Both have a completely different style of playing. Sachin is aggressive and dominated many world class bowlers where as Dravid relies mostly on defense and will make use of bad balls only. In test cricket, I rate Sachin just a notch above Dravid esp. due to his longevity and consistent performance over 2 decades. Bragging is a mask for insecurity. Truly confident people are quiet and unassuming. | ||
