unless u change car every 3 yrs, buying is always better...

Depreciation is lot less after 3 yrs...so when you come out of lease u are taking care of depreciation and u come out of lease when the depr. is starting to decrease...

regarding OP's Q:
i want to lease for 3 years/45 k miles
monthly payment takkuva compared to buying

monthly payment takkuva coz if u buy after 3 yrs u still own the car, where as in lease u dont have the car

King:

dont know if I can convey it properly.

BUY Scenario-
Suppoose you want o buy BMW 535 which retails for 60,000 MSRP, with overall rebate of 10% (Which includes rebates and your haggling), you pay 54000 .

Lease scenario..MSRP is 60,000..You still haggle for the 10% which will bring down the cap cost to $54,000 but your Residual value will be taken based on the MSRP. Suppose your Residual value is 60% after three years , it is calculated based on MSRP to keep the lease down,

So if you want to buy your car after three years, you will be paying MSRP price

ok in this case ..my colleague got Toyota car worth 22k ( No discounts deal)

$175 for 3 yrs lease + 1500 down payment = $7800

He said even though we drive more miles or what ever if we want to own it after 3 yrs we need to pay 22K - $7800 = $14200.

Same scenario if we BUY:

You need to pay the interest what ever is approved.

The reality: Buying a car is almost always cheaper in the long run, according to most calculations, such as this one from Cars.com. The longer you own the car, usually the more you save by buying.

with 0% and 0.99% aprs, is leasing still good?

brand new car ayithey...you have to make a call on a case by case basis. There is no blanket answer.

if you are talking about what makes financial sense, IMO, buying 2 or 3 year old cars (preferably lease returns) is a better compromise.

Also, absolutely make sure to get "Gap" insurance if you are going with leasing. This is a must have.

To put it simple :

If u want to drive ur new car past 100K miles too - BUY
Rest every case - LEASE

worst decision. Never ever buy the same car you leased at the end of the lease as cap cost would be higher to make the lease deal sweat

If u buy... u need to hold the car for long else u loose money on taxes...

for e.g.

car1 - u buy for 25k + taxes... after 3 yrs u sell say 18k (7k+ taxes is gone)... and now if u buy car 2 - u r paying taxes again...

Kurrokurru:

Its worth to buy after 3 yrs lease for example:

Car Cost 30K anuko

3yrs lease 15k anuko(including down payment) you need to pay 15K balance anthe to own it.

Buying:

compare for first 3 yrs: you have to pay interest here.

Bottom Line: Take lease for 3 yrs pay what ever for 3 yrs and own it by paying the balance(0% interest in this case) or other wise go for new lease if you want new car.

2013 BMW 535 New = $50,000
same car lease = $500/month and $3000 down (10000/year limit)
At the end of 3 years I end up paying $21000

If I sell my owned car after 3 years with 30000 miles = $32000
I spent $18000 + any interest on loan.

It end up same either you buy or lease..

In my case buying made sense so far.

2005 lo $8500 ki konnaa, 2013 lo $2000 ki ammesaa.

8 years lo $6500 plus tires and brakes.

Eppudoo kothagaa undaali or Brand new car kavali antey lease is better if you can keep it within the mileage restrictions.

If I remember correctly, insurance premiums on leased cars will be higher than financed/bought cars.

whats the downside?

if you think you will return the car after 3 yrs, do not exceed the Mileage limit and drive carefully so that there wont be any scratches/dings/dents then Lease is the best option.

For a leased car if you are returning it after 3 yrs there this credit card rule
if the scratch is bigger than the size of a credit card you have to pay for the paint job.

idhi car depreciation medha depend ayin vuntundhi...

say you leas a car for 36m /36K miles for 200$ a month...

you are paying 7200 for 3yrs = 2400$/yr is very reasonable.. and you don't do anything except oil change every three months..

buying:
Price -- 20K anukundhaamm.. tax avg 6% = 1200$ right way losss.. where as lease meedha mostly you pay tax on 7200 ($432) about 800$ extra

maintenance ..always own car ki 6 months / 12months ani.. etta ledhu annaa... 1500 vuntundhi.. alage.. at the end of 36 months you have tire change due etc vuntaayi.... elagu interest vuntundhi.. car loan meedha

depreciation kuda add chesthe definite gaa lease better...

but buying price vs. leasing cost choosukovaali...
approx 200-250$/month for a 20K - Lease is winning

approx 800 -850$ on a 50K BMW might be a loosing

another advantge in leasing.. you can have a fully loaded versus base model.. the cost variation would be 5-10$month...

Its basically similar to House. Rent vs Buy

Leasing is big business

Lease chesevaadu neeku emi voorikee thana labham soosukokundaa seyadu

If u own business then lease is expense. so makes mroe sense

for mango people probably no sense

Cocanada:

you leased or you bought?

leased...yes i feel its bad exp now...!!
1. putting lots of miles....monthly 2200 apprx
2. after 3 yrs if u want to own it u have to pay rest, which is not worth
3. 3 yrs ki models upgrade ayipothayi....so u r paying for an outdated car.
if you want to lease:
make sure
1. donot cross miles limit
2. 200% makesure that u r giving it back to him after 3 yrs period (wat ever time u signed)-No second thoughts of owning
3. I am paying 350 a months so 36 months= 12600 its gone....
if you drive its gone too, but u r loosing more.

prastutma market lo lease is cheap and good...

2 years lease ...after 2 years u get new car ...maintenance we don't do...

10 years oka manchi car paid off amount will be 30 gran and maintenance inko 5k.

Ante 10 years ki 35...yearly 3.5 ....u would ahve leased 5 cars for monthly 250 where u get very good one ...

if you sell the car after 5 years, car will also depreciate right?

Consider that you are taking loan with same interest rate as lease

Buy Car:
Amount you pay for 3 years
Seoll the Car after 3 years how would you get?

Lease Car:
Amount you pay for 3 years

nothing.

kondariki buying makes sense, kondariki leasing makes sense.

If you drive less number of miles, and if you get bored with cars after 2 or 3 years - leasing is best.

If the daily commute is too long, and you don't like 'change' then buying is better.
