Verdict: ABOVE AVERAGE ((3.25/5.00)

My expectations:
Surya Kiran, Manchu Manoj, Lakshmi Prasanna Banner which is the stable for many flops had no influence on my expectations which were very low. But Yuvan Sankar Raja’s tunes, the different making style of trailers gave a microsize hope whether some wonder is going to happen.

My view:

Rajubhai(Manoj) turns a goon due to his father’s non-caring attitude. Instant love-making with a heroine at that time, he becoming a reason for her father’s death, finally the heroine realizing the truth with a fine twist at the climax forms the story.

Very Simple Storyline. But the Screenplay part was well handled which was the main framework of the film. The film runs throughout without any wastage. At times it slows down but does not damage the tempo. The film has a Tamil feel all over which is pleasing and appealing to the viewers. Though the first half has excessive usage of camera angles for few scenes, every fight and every song has to be complemented.

In the film maintaining suspense for the sake of suspense by the director is surprisingly different. The viewers think in a different way but the movie ends on another note. Not having watched the Tamil original I felt the movie exceeds my expectations.

Artists and Technicians:

60% of the movie’s success can be safely given to Manoj. His performance is super in Rain Song. I felt he transformed as a matured actor. I also feel that he has the qualities of being the true heir to Mohan Babu. I heard the audience discuss about his acting in that sentimental song. Some of his risky fights also can be complemented. Thrusting an auto, fighting with bricks were done void of any graphic work. For that he should be given credit.

After that credit goes to Action Prakash and Yuvan Sankar Raja. Every fight is displayed interestingly except first fight. In the present scenario of excessive rope work, natural taking of fights is a good sign..

Yuvan Sankar Raja used two songs from “kadhal kondein”. Those were the highlights in the movie. The other songs were also good.  The tunes were potrayed in a different style. Hats off to Yuvan for the background music. He elevated the dull scenes also with his music.

Surya Kiran cannot be given full big marks. He has lifted main scenes as it is from the tamil version. Moreover the shot making is not Surya Kiran’s. Even Mohan Babu certified that Manoj’s involvement is there in the taking. Whatever it is…retaining the original flavor is also an art. In that way Surya Kiran can be commended

.

Box Office Prediction:

There are not great signs of this film staying at the box office. But good publicity can work wonders at A grade centers. Especially Audience who cannot withstand hero emotional scenes and who are used to the basic trend of hero elevation cannot accept this film. Maybe we should wait and see. People who appreciate Tamil films, those who accept movies with a feel can safely watch this film. But for sure this isn’t a flop show.

Verdict as a reviewer:

There is no use complaining abt no “different” movies, it is our mistake when we can find them. Though this is a remake every sweat drop by each technician stands out clearly on each frame. In today’s trend of Routine movies becoming summer winners, we should wait and see whether this movie stands as a wonder or not !
