An avid telugu movie goer can predict this run of a mill story. Screenplay should have been better. Any movie goer who watches rajamouli and vinayak movie can write this kind of screenplay. Blindly keeping confidence on a new director is one of the big mistakes dil raju made amd on top of it he gave full freedom to him.
From the starting of the movie there is not even a single interesting point to make audience glue to the chair. Movie seems to move with a point that it has to end somewhere. Director, Vamsi Paidipalli direction is good in parts, but he could not maintain the same tempo/narration thought the movie. Movie runs on a single point story. He seemed to have written the script that audience will be excited with the slick action sequences.
Artists and Technicians:
The only person to be appreciated is dil raju. Though having confidence in the debutant director and fully relying on him by giving him free hand is a good thing, He gave a first flop to his prestigious banner. The production values are rich that one understands the commitment of dil raju, as he never compromises on anything. But the verdict of flop makes audience feel sorry for the most successful banner so far.
Coming to Debutant director Vamsi Paidipalli, direction is not up to the mark as I already mentioned, it’s good in parts. Dil raju directors always used to maintain a low profile, but the working stills of munna are full of director photos and there are also rumours that he increased the production budget.
Prabhas excelled in action sequences. Though his hairstyle is awkward in workstills, he looks good on screen. His on-screen chemistry with illeana is too good. His facial expressions are wooden in some scenes. He need to improve his voice modulation as per the scene.
Illena has got nothing to do with the movie other than shaking leg in songs and giving a glamour quotient to the movie. she's slowly losing her craze.
Prakash Raj is routine. Kota excels as politician. Sukanya is strictly OK as Prakash Raj Wife.
Trying to make your debut movie a HIT is not a bad thing. But, making a movie that creates a own identity will help in long run. But, Vamsi tried to go safe with tried and tested formula with a single point story line having too much action and hero elavtion sequences
Last but not the least the music of the film scored by harris jayraj got good response after the audio release,but the background music is not up to the mark. It’s horrible like the one in sainkudu.its better for the producers to get some other professional BGM music director like in bollywood, if they signup harris as Music Director.
Box Office Prediction:
Though the movie didn’t open with earth shattering openings, they are good, they could’ve got even better with the fame the banner “Sri Venkateshwara creations” got. We cannot say it would be a hit, since there are no other films but we can affirm that its not a safe project.It might be good venture in B, C centers.
