What I think will happen is Shell or Exxon will take over BP this would allow BP to file a bankruptcy and separate the costs of the cleanup....and potentially billions of dollars in legal claims into a separate equity... so, IMO its still a buy but we gotta wait for few more days for further action from BP | ||

Is it too risky to buy BP stock or is it good to buy now or wait and watch? I copied this from net: BP stock has lost 43% of its value since 4/20 - a loss of $18.9B. BP reports spending $1.25 billion on cleanup and containment - a cash burn of $35.4M per day. Early EPA estimates the cleanup time to take at least 5 yrs. Economic experts such as Andrew Sorkin predict the total cost for BP to be between $15 and $40B. BP currently has $12B in cash on hand. At the current cash burn rate, all of this capital will be consumed in less than 340 days. Do you think BP will go bankrupt? | ||
