one of my friend posted this in a other db interesting take The title "Vedam" is based on the 5 stories which relate to the 4 vedas "Rig Veda, Sama Veda, Yajur Veda and Atharva Veda" . Besides their spiritual value, they also give a unique view of everyday life in India. The underlying message of all the vedas is "sacrifice" which is what all the main lead characters do at the very end in the movie. As all vedas are based on the prior or had an influence over the other , the stories in this movie are also connected and which makes an apt title for the movie. 1.Rigveda (ramulu thatha story as the element of nature is worship(bonded slave). he owes the landlord money and his life is indebted to the landlord ) 2.Yajurveda - AA thread (he is practical and has 2 shades of life(black and white) , he is poor but wanna be rich and portrays them beautifully and ends with a scarifice) 3.Samaveda - small snow babu thread (it is about a "singer" who took part in the sacrifice) 4.Atharvaveda - Anushka thread (This veda deals with the AIM in life and that is what anushka is. She aims to grow big on her own. Everything is etched beautifully for her following the atharvaveda as this deals with protection against demons and disaster( sidekick hijada for anu) You might question about the 5th story and well there is an explanation for that too. Mahabharata, natyasastra and other puranas refer themselves as fith veda which is the story of MB . I think just like Mahabharata this story is woven for commercial purposes and it doesn't really gell with all the other "sacrificial" stories. Intha detailed ga alochinchi cinema choosa kada, koddiga disappointed but a very good effort. For all the people who compare it with crash should realize that India movies run on emotions. Imagine crash with songs and all other commercial elements of telugu cinema and it would hands down beat sam anderson movies. The psuedo class reviewers including me are concentrated on dissecting movies as if they are re-incarnation of francis ford coppola and alfred hitchcock ippudu oka soda ivvandi , chala pedda post vesa |
