sammy stosur did what sharapova could not. she used the serve and forehand power game to show henin the door. in sharapova's defence, she hits more flat while SS uses more top-spin and cardinal rule of tennis tells top-spin + clay = lethal combo. serena is the only grandslam winner remaining in the QFs. it is upto jankovic, wozniacki, schiavone, petrova or demntieva to stop the bisceps woman! (though stosur and petrova dont seem physically frail when put up against miss. W). i would love it if dementieva can sneak in and get that 1st GS. or even jankovic. those 2 have got the coolest of ground strokes on the women's side..... such clean strokes. if serena wins, she will have a great shot at the GrandSlam, but i donot think she will win. on the men's side, fed and nadal yet to lose a set. for some strange reason, nadal is not in cruise mode, as he should be. but he should cheer up when he sees only one of fed or soderling remaining in the draw after tomorrow. djokovic has had the easiest of draws and he really needed it, i must say, but credit to him, he made use of it. berdych is another guy i would have rooted for if he was in rafa's half..... he is in fed's half and fed will likely have to play soderling and berdych to get to the finals - not at all a good way to prepare for nadal on clay. anyhow, roger needs to be careful and play well to get through these really talented power players. this is the stage of a slam where fed and rafa find higher gears.  i hope i have not jinxed either of them by saying so. henin-sharapova was awesome. sharapova gave everything she had, but henin on clay is too tough a task for someone who is not a natural on clay and/or does not mix up things..... that said, juju needs to do something with her serve. she will get killed by power-hitters on grass/ faster courts! and on the atp side, it is bye-bye murray. berdych was on fire, and murray was just not up for it today. he joins the other andy in getting ready to put one across the God on grass at wimbledon, this year. it is either one of those 2 that will get Roger at wimbledon this year. or no one. fed is 30-2 against the 3 remaining players in his half. anything can happen on a gived day in an ultra-competitive sport like tennis, but those are some god-damned stats that soderling, youzhny and t-berd are up against. if federer brings his A game, pencil in 19th slam final in last 20slams for Fed. belucci against nadal could be fun tomorrow. belucci dude has an awesome game. he will need a lot of things to fall in place for him. also on the babe front, elena dementieva is still in. i love her ground-strokes, totally laser like. some of the sweetest shots you will find on the woman's side. and wozniacki, played really well to beat flavia, but like murray, her game is a little passive at times. schiavone might make her pay for that as soon as the next round. wozniacki just does not change the direction of the ball often enough and she can get predictable at times. henin and serena 1 match away from a much awaited show-down but they got tricky opponents to get through. i think they will and if they do, that match might give us the winner of fo 2010 on women's side. too much speculation for now.... fed 1st man into quarters. 1 win away from the magical 286 mark i wish soderling and cilic were in rafa's half. just hate them in fed's draw. soderling is proving he is no fluke. it was on the same day last year that he took rafa out. he is a set away from a repeat of last year's french-open final with fed. unfortunately, his game doesn't match as well against fed, as it does with rafa! fed shouldn't lose more than 1 set, but soda pop has the game to beat anyone. and both marias lost today hantuchova is the only babe remaining Sterility is hereditary. @stig: thanks for that link! speechless - these are tough times. too bad a-man has to face the music. unfortunately, i can only wish the tide recedes and a-man can get himself to a happy place. v-man : it is not about how many years it has taken for roger to lose on grass, on roger's worst year on grass, dude loses 9-7 in the 5th to the 2nd greatest grass courter of the decade. on nadal's worst year on clay soda boy takes him to the woodshed in 4sets in the 4th round. and dont forget the grass was slowed down after 2001. definitely that helps nadal more than roger boy! a more fair comparison would be USopen and french open. nadal is yet to reach a USopen final. you can even look at the Masters cup, where nadal has been a perpetual no-show. no finals there too. these are not coincidences. the USopen and fall european indoor season have the fastest courts on tour now, previously Wimbledon used to be faster than grass, but now that they slowed conditions at big W, it offers nadal an advantage over fed that agassi never had over sampras in the 90s. get my drift? and as for celtics, they still are the franchise with most nba championships, right? and they are the league's most historical franchise (along with yankees and pistons!) celtics-lakers is THE rivalry in nba. as for boston losing, everything is gravy for celtics since they beat lebron and co. would totally love them to repeat 08, but i feel they really have thrown everything they got, out there. i have started my voodoo against whoever comes out of the west finals Sterility is hereditary. well, i strongly oppose this....once the suns beat the lakers, they should be the fav to ebat the celtics......lets take a look at the celtics- suns matchup: in my POV: RONDO - NASH : balanced...with slight favour on rondo pierce - hill: pierce KG - STOUD: Stoud with a wide margin JRICH - r.allen - jay rich lopez - pekins - balanced..... apart from this, the speed of suns offense will kill the celtics defense and the average suns defense is good enough for the slow and old celtics offense....
